The Design Process
Designing a garden you’ll love should be an exciting experience.
A clear and strong process gives my clients confidence in knowing where their project is up to. It helps define what comes next so there are no surprises along the way. As both an experienced landscape architect and project manager I follow the process below with all my clients, as I want everyone to enjoy the journey.
step one
Client Briefing
Your dream garden should complement your lifestyle and bring you joy. By asking you the right questions my detailed briefing process ensures the final design aligns with your expectations. This is the perfect time to bring out all those images you’ve been collecting! Depending on your property you may require a site survey. I'll arrange for this to be done at a time that suits you.
step two
design stage
Whilst you’re busy with life, your qualified landscape architect is designing your dream garden. We will meet to review the design, and for you to provide feedback. I will incorporate any changes and email the design to you for your final comments. Once the design is locked in the construction documentation begins.
step three
Construction Documentation
Construction documentation will include everything needed for a builder or landscaper to construct your new dream garden. If required, planning approvals will also be obtained during this phase (depending on the project).
step four
Construction Stage
Your dream garden comes to life. If you’d like the confidence of having a seasoned project manager oversee the construction phase then again, you focus on your everyday while I focus on bringing your garden to life.
step five
Relax and Enjoy
This is your moment - you wont want to leave home! Take a deep breath, relax and enjoy your stunning new garden with family and friends.
Completion of design & documentation typically 4-8 weeks, depending on the project.
Your garden and outdoor living spaces should fill you with great pride. Your home and garden are in many ways reflective of you, so you should absolutely love your proposed garden. That’s why I promise to refund your entire design fee if you’re not absolutely in love with your final garden design.
